Create a band
What it is
A band is your home base in TuneUp: members, sessions, a shared song library, files, and chat. You don't need your whole band signed up first: create it solo and invite the rest.
When to use it
Any group that plays together more than once. (For a one-off, start a jam instead: jams create their own lightweight session without a permanent band.)
Steps
Go to Play with → Create new → New band. The flow has seven quick steps:
- Name: up to 30 characters.
- Genres: pick what you play together.
- What your band needs: for each instrument you're missing, set how many players you need with the + / − stepper. These become your open positions.
- Who's joining: choose Private (invite only) or Open (players can ask to join). Tap people you've played with before to add them directly, or type email addresses to invite them.
- Photo: pick a cover, and tap the circle on it to add a logo.
- Location: your band's main city, so people can find you on the map. Use the search or Use my location.
- Review: check the summary and tap Create band.
You're the band's admin. After creating, you'll also get an invite link and QR code to share.
Tips
- Open positions + an Open band = discoverable on the Search map, where players can apply on their instrument. See Find players and approve applicants.
- Everything here is editable later: band page → ⋯ → Edit band.
