Find players: open positions and applications

What it is

Public ("Open") bands can post open positions: the instruments they still need. Players discover those bands on the Search map and apply on their instrument. No endless DMs: the band sees a real application and approves or declines.

Posting open spots (band admins)

1. Make the band Open (band page hero → visibility chip → Open).
2. In the Overview → Members card, use Open positions (or Post open spots): the same instrument stepper from band creation. Set how many of each instrument you need.
3. Applicants appear in your Members list marked "Wants to join", each with an instrument and a chat button. Tap ✓ to approve (they join instantly and get notified) or ✕ to decline.

Applying to a band (players)

1. Open Search, switch to the Bands scope. Bands needing an instrument you play are highlighted; there's also a "find a band" card on your Play with page.
2. Tap a band to open its detail sheet: members, open positions, when they usually play, songs, photos, location.
3. Tap Apply: if you play more than one of their open instruments, you'll pick which one.
4. Track it under Applied to on your Play with page: Pending, You're in, or Declined. You can withdraw any time from the band's sheet.

You can also message the band without applying, handy if your instrument isn't listed.

Tips

• After applying you'll get a "Say hello" prompt: a short message dramatically improves your odds.
• Approvals notify you by push (if enabled) and the bell.
