Turning on notifications
What it is
TuneUp reaches you three ways:
- The bell 🔔: in-app notifications you'll always see the next time you open TuneUp. Open them from the bell on your dashboard (or the Notifications item in the sidebar on desktop).
- Push 📲: real-time alerts on your phone even when the app is closed. Used for things that can't wait: band invites, accepted applications, booking decisions, same-day rehearsal reminders, chat messages, and "your chords are ready."
- Email ✉️: invites to people not on TuneUp yet, and booking receipts.
Turning on push
- Go to Settings → Notifications.
- Tap Enable next to Push notifications and allow the browser prompt.
That's it: the row will read "On, you'll be alerted even when the app is closed."
TuneUp also offers this once by itself: after you install the app, a "Turn on notifications" card appears on your dashboard. Tap Enable notifications there and you're set.
iPhone: install first
On iOS, push only works when TuneUp is installed on your Home Screen: it does nothing in a Safari tab. Install first (how), open TuneUp from its icon, then enable push in Settings.
Practice reminders
Want a daily nudge to keep your practice streak alive? The streak widget on your dashboard has its own practice reminder toggle: a streak-aware push each day, separate from the rest of your notifications.
Turning it off
Settings → Notifications → Turn off. The bell and emails keep working regardless.
If it says "blocked"
You previously denied the permission. Enable notifications for tuneup.band in your browser/OS settings, then try again.
