Add songs to your library

What it is

The Practice tab is your song library: personal songs plus everything from your bands, organized into playlists. When you add a song, TuneUp automatically fetches its lyrics, chords, and a synced YouTube video in the background.

Steps

1. On Practice, tap the search button.
2. On the Find songs tab, type a title or artist (or browse the trending list, the songs people on TuneUp are practicing right now).
3. Tap the + to add it, or tap the row to add and open it right away.

While TuneUp prepares the song you'll see a "Preparing chords…" spinner on it. When the chords are ready you'll get a notification ("TuneUp chords ready"), and if time-synced lyrics were found, the song is karaoke-ready too.

Each song shows its status at a glance: Synced (green, karaoke-timed lyrics), With chords (amber), or Not synced yet.

Your own songs

Can't find it, or is it an original song? Use Add your own at the bottom of the search. It creates a blank song you can write chords and lyrics for yourself.

Adding songs to a band

From a band page → Songs → + Add (search the catalog or pull whole chunks of your playlists in). From your personal library, any song's ⋯ menu offers Add to band. Removing works per-side too: Remove for me only vs Remove from band.

"My songs"

There's also a focused My songs page (tuneup.band/songs) with just your personal songs (the ones not tied to any band), including the queue of songs still preparing their chords.
