Record your band (beta)
What it is
Band recording turns everyone's phones into a multitrack rig: each phone records its own instrument on its own mic, in sync, and the tracks come together as one take you can mix in the studio.
Beta note: band recording and stem separation are rolling out gradually and may not be visible in your band yet.
Steps
- In live mode, open the recording controls (Record the band).
- The person who starts is the "driver": tap Start recording. Everyone else in the session gets a join prompt on their phone.
- Wait for "Mics ready" to count everyone in, then tap Start the take.
- Play!
- The driver taps Stop. Each phone uploads its own track, and the take appears under Recordings.
Tips
- Play an instrument outside the five separable stems (vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano)? Your part lands in the "Other" channel; it still records fine, it just won't separate as cleanly later.
- Recording uses raw mic audio (no phone noise-cancelling) for the truest sound.
- If an upload fails, your track isn't lost: a local copy is saved to your device.
- Finished takes live in the session's Assets tab; open one to mix it in the studio, or tap Separate to split it into stems.
- Your recordings are never used to train AI. See Privacy and your data.
