Join a jam or open session

What it is

Open jams and sessions list the instruments they still need. You apply for a slot on your instrument; if it's a fit, you're in.

Steps

1. Open Search → Sessions scope (your dashboard's "Jams for you" and the Play with page's Open sessions tab surface good matches too).
2. Tap a jam to open its detail sheet: when and where, the host, the lineup so far, open spots, and the vibe/difficulty.
3. Tap Join (instant, on open jams) or Apply (the host approves). Play several of the needed instruments? You'll pick which one.
4. Watch for the decision: you'll be notified. Your applications show on the Play with page with their status.

Changed your mind? Open the jam again and tap Withdraw application.

Messaging the host

Tap Message host to ask anything: this works even when there's no slot for your instrument, and it starts a normal chat thread with the host. If you applied, the conversation lives alongside your application.

Good to know

• One application per instrument: if you've applied for guitar, other guitar spots in that jam show "Covered by your application."
• Once you're in, the jam behaves like any session: setlist, notes, live mode, and Leave jam if plans change (your slot frees up for someone else).
